You probably knew that already, but collectibles is a synonym for antique.  Now I'd be even more of a Phillistine to say I-don't-know ;-) call it trash but think about it. I used to collect stamps (don't laugh every one in my boarding school went throught that phase.. and I have no idea why). But now we probably couldn't tell you where all those stamps went to. Now some collectibles are more expensive than others (e.g stamps versue vintage ferrari. mmmm...) but still makes you think that they are equally destined for the bin. Essentially. And the thing about antiques more often than not is that you get so little mileage out of it. Apart from bragging rights. Now to my mind that is a bit pointless. But perhaps I'm underestimated (or rather refusing to acknowledge even in myself) how important bragging rights have become or always been.

Shot in Raw and converted in GIMP using a free plugin based on Dave Coffee's DCRAW plugin (not sure if i've written it before but well worth checking out if you've got nothing out there or really supporting open source). B&W conversion via channel mixer and then.. yes you've guessed it, the softglow filter. It will tire but till then this is your pp of the week!
